23/02/2004 New Roof,New Volunteers and a NEW FOAL expected.
Firstly I am happy to tell you that we have the funds to make the roof shelter over the stable yard for the girlies and also the hands to put it all up!!Two smashing volunteers Brian and Alan are going to do the work starting this week (weather permitting) so soon the girlies can be fed in comfort and rest their rather full tummies on a nice bed of straw. Wonderful news this!"
Next. I am really happy to tell you that Christine and Alan, two more volunteers, join with Brian ( building) and Michaela ( training) in giving some of their time and expertise to further this project. So welcome to them from me and of course the donkeys!

The museum looks to be a possibility for Easter. Alan has already made a start on the flooring now and when the roof is resealed to keep out the rain the new floor can be laid. A coat of paint all round inside to make it clean and fresh and THEN we can share the lovely donkey items with all who visit.

Marisma is about to foal. It looks as if she will give birth by the full moon on March 6th or thereabouts. She is tucked up nicely in her special stable in a good deep bed of straw which she is making her very own. She is spending most of her days now on the top terrace which is level and easier for her to walk around on.
Good news to complete this update is that Val has organised a wonderful raffle to provide for the roof works. Courtesy of Lori and team at the Life Centre Kempinski Hotel who are giving a prize of a wonderful detox and pampering day. Sounds marvellous! Tickets are 10 euros and there are only 50, so do buy one!

Our heartfelt thanks must go to David for his generous donation and to Swans School Marbella for their generous donation towards this project. Please come and visit us to see how the project is progressing or sponsor a donkey from wherever you are living.
Until next time, cheerio
