13/01/2004 Happy New Year from the donkeys!
Here we are at the start of another year and all the donkeys send their greetings to you all. Things have been quiet over the Christmas period and the routine continued as usual."

Britty and El Quivir are doing well on their training course. They have a super teacher in Michaela who hails from Germany and she has kindly donated her services to help us out.I am learning too as I have to do the daily training during the week so that Michaela can see their progress at the weekends.I just wish there were 36 hours in every day!
I have also started to walk Romero the Jack as a precursor before the lungeing starts. He really is enjoying this and really pays attention . It is interesting to see the character of the donkeys come through as they are being trained. Britty is razor sharp and pays attention, while El Quivir is much more laid back and day dreams a bit and looks around at what the others are doing! That will have to be cured pronto.

Serrato will be the next little one to start his lead training. He is already well used to grooming and having his feet lifted for inspection and of course lots of cuddles which he enjoys to the full!

The museum is progressing. The windows are now beautifully glazed so it is just attention to the flooring and a general freshen up and then we can begin to mount the items and share them with the visitors.

We have had another volunteer come to us who is a retired builder and he has offered to help with any building type work, so the project is to cover the roof of the stable yard so that the pregnant girlies have a space to lie down when it is raining. We can straw this down for them . We really need some funds for this . Can you help please? If so please contact me, thanks.Cost for materials approx 600 euros.

For the moment that's all folks, so until next time ..…
