Next on the list and the final girlie to birth was Lola. Now this is Steven's special girlie that he rides out. Lola likes her stable so it was no surprise that she chose to be inside to birth.She chose the evening of 20.9.04. We carefully moved her out to the covered yard to give her more space. Again she was a slow and steady birther and a very black wet bundle finally emerged. Yet another girl! Wow! She struggled to her feet all wobbly and uncertain and after a while we managed to get her to suckle. Lola needed a fair amount of time to rest after birthing and she enjoyed eating her hay and nuts and drinking before she got up on her feet. This last girlie was called Anastasia and she is a quiet little soul who thinks a lot! Again this was an evening birth. So, this year we produced 4 girlies and two smashing boys. |
